Profibus Stripper No. 2

Weicon Tools strippers enable the fast and safe stripping of all common round cables. The product line of stripping tools includes different models that have been developed for various applications. Based on the classic Coax-Stripper No. 2, which is easy to handle and boasts an ergonomic design, Weicon has developed a special tool for preparing Profibus cables – the Profibus Stripper No. 2.

Preparing Profibus cables

With the tool Profibus Stripper No. 2, the outer sheath and the underlying shielding can be cleanly cut enabling the user to strip the Profibus cable according to its connector. The required stripping length can be selected with the visual measuring scale in the module. In this way, Ethernet cables can be prepared precisely for the FastConnect connector. For stripping lengths of 17 mm, 20 mm, 24 mm and 30 mm, the usual measurements are visually marked in the module. The stripper was developed to cut Profibus cables in the range from 5.5 mm to 8 mm with two pairs of blades at the same time for a precise fit. The cutting structure creates an ideal preparation for FastConnect connectors – even with different cable diameters. If necessary, the pairs of blades in the half-shells can be replaced or renewed as modules.

Ergonomics and safety

In addition to considerations of user friendliness, ergonomics and intuitive handling were taken into account in the development of the tool. The ergonomically-shaped handle ensures a safe grip of the tool and therefore safe usage. Since the blades are located inside the tool, the risk of injury is significantly reduced.

Made in Germany

As usual with Weicon Tools, the stripper was developed and manufactured entirely in Germany. The tool – made of robust glass-fibre reinforced polyamide – was produced in the German town of Ascheberg, Westphalia, and the steel for the blades is from Solingen. The tool is 110 mm long, weighs 35 grammes and is supplied in a recyclable cardboard packaging.
